Stephen Soll

Stephen Soll is the founder and principal of Soll & Company. Stephen’s practice is primarily in the area of family law, family law mediation and wills and estates.  He has spent many years litigating family matters at all levels of Court in British Columbia.  He strongly believes that a non-court collaborative approach can bring significant benefits to the parties and their families.

Stephen received a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of British Columbia. He was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1978. Stephen is accredited by the Law Society of BC to act as a Family Law Mediator. In his dispute resolution practice, Stephen focuses on the restructuring of families resulting from separation and divorce.

In addition, Stephen is a member of the Canadian Bar Association: Family Law Section, the Trial Lawyers Association of BC, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the Kamloops Collaborative Family Law Association.

Stephen has volunteered with a number of community non-profit organizations. In 2004, he was recognized by the Legal Services Society for exemplary service and in making access to justice a reality for people with low incomes.

Stephen recommends collaborative law as an alternative to the often destructive and sometimes very expensive aspects of court proceedings.  He strongly believes that the financial and emotional costs of litigating matrimonial disputes can and should be avoided, if at all possible.
